Commissioner Jeffrey C. Crowe

Jeffrey C. Crowe is the Chairman of the Board of Landstar System, Inc. From June 2001 to June 2004, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Landstar System, Inc. and from April 1991 through June 2001 he served as Landstar's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Crowe currently serves on the Board of Directors for Silgan Corporation, SunTrust Bank, PSS World Medical, Inc., the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Chamber Foundation (1998). He also served on the Board of Trustees for United Way of NE Florida (September 2003 through April 2006). From June, 2003 until June 2004, he served as Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the National Defense Transportation Association from October 1993-October 2003.

Throughout his career, Mr. Crowe has received numerous awards including Wall Street Transcript's 1994 Silver Award and 1995 Gold Award as the Transportation CEO of the Year. In 1995, Financial World Magazine named him Transportation CEO of the Year. In October, 1996, he was awarded the National Defense Transportation's highest award, The National Transportation Award. Mr. Crowe was named 2004 Person of the Year by the Logistics, Transportation and Supply Chain Management Society and the Supply Chain Club of the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business.

From 1982 to 1989, Mr. Crowe served as president of Independent Freightway, Inc. (Landstar Inway), Rockford , IL , one of Landstar's carriers. Before joining Landstar, Mr. Crowe served as vice president for operations of All-States Trucking and at Pacific Intermountain Express as region manager.

Mr. Crowe received his B.A. degree from Drake University .
